Spiritual Formation

"Spiritual formation is our continual response to the reality of God's grace shaping us into the likeness of Jesus Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit, in the community of faith, for the sake of the world."
Jeffrey P. Greenman
President and Professor of Theology and Ethics at Regent College

Every day we are either being formed by the Holy Spirit or being formed by the world.

Romans 12:22

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

The Holy Spirit, that lives within you, has the power to transform your life if you choose to: draw close to God, connect with Him, renew your mind, and allow Him to mold and shape you.

Respond to God's Grace

Every human spirit is being formed daily.

The question is:

Are you allowing your spirit to be formed by God?

His invitation requires your response. It is a surrender and a partnership. It requires faith and effort.

Work of the Holy Spirit

Being conformed to the image of Christ means that control is given over to the Holy Spirit. It is a process that is slow. Are you willing to allow the Spirit of God to move in your life for His purposes?

For others

We are created for relationship; to God, to ourselves and to others. The expression of transformation in Christ-likeness is rooted in your relationship with others. Are you willing to allow your encounter with God to translate into your relationship with others?

Reach out

It takes a leap of faith to reach out with a willing heart for connection.
